Located south of Hillstreet with 180 degree views across the Tasman Bay, the apartment is self contained, with its own entrance and own parking. Even though it is part of the house (owner lives above), there is no connection - it is a fully self-contained unit. The unit includes an open plan kitchenette-dining-living space, a bathroom and a double bedroom. Note that the kitchenette does not have a hob, oven, or extractor fan. Fridge freezer, microwave, espresso maker, kettle, rice cooker, and slow cooker are provided. The bathroom has a shower. The unit is double glazed and has its own deck. There is shared access to a large garden. 180 degree views from the Western Ranges over Tasman Bay to Nelson and the Eastern Hills. This property is not suitable for longer term rental. Maximum stay is a week. The property is not available after mid-March and prior to mid October.

Summary: This was my first time booking a bookabatch or similar. So I was unfamiliar with the process. However, spot was nice. Instructions on how to access the unit were clear. The location was nice for someone wanting to be out of the bustle of central Nelson. The unit was clean and tidy, nice furnishings, and, a nice outlook with a fantastic garden. Check in was fine, however, there was a slight hiccup owing to my understanding of the booking and the hosts rules. Being my first time making a booking on bookabach or airbnb, I was unfamiliar with the process. Whilst the batch description indicates the unit sleeps up to 3, the house rules are that only 2 are allowed to stay. I now understand the booking system better, and will not make a similar mistake in the future. We sorted the situation and one of our party found a couch nearby to sleep. We enjoyed our stay in the region.

Summary: Everything was exactly as it should be. The property was better than advertised and I had absolute uninterrupted space. There is a family living overhead and pipes are noisy but most people probably wouldn’t notice. It is NOT inappropriate. There is loads of space and a garden which, I think, was better than the public gardens dotted about Tasman. And Anette was lovely. Cheers and thank you for a wonderful stay. I would definitely return.
